The Vancouver Canucks put together a solid performance against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night, and it was in big thanks to two specific players who needed massive games.

First, Thatcher Demko stopped 36 of 37 shots after a very rough start to the season, but most important was Brock Boeser's impressive performance. Boeser scored his first two goals of the season, and he shared that it wouldn't have happened without specific training.

As per Harman Dayal of The Athletic:

''Brock Boeser said he's spent a lot of time tipping pucks after practice. Said he probably wouldn't have scored the second one if he hadn't put that work in.''

Boeser's terrific shot helped him score 20-plus goals in four of his last five seasons. However, after not finding the back of the net through the first 11 games of the season, adding a new tool to his arsenal is working out early.
