Andrei Kuzmenko stayed behind when the team travelled to Calgary last night after he caught a puck to his chin on Tuesday.

Subsequently, the Canucks' GM Patrik Allvin called up the young Swede Linus Karlsson since they were one forward short. He got an opportunity to skate in his first NHL game and the team'a coach seemed appreciative of his performance.

Today, Allvin announced that Karlsson was sent back down to Abbotsford in favor of Akito Hirose. Which also indicates that Andrei Kuzmenko will be back on Saturday:

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Linus Karlsson has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL) and D Akito Hirose has been recalled.

The Canucks will be hosting the Kraken on Saturday and Kuzmenko will definitely an offensive boost to Tocchet's squad after they've only found the back of the net twice in Calgary.

Hirose may be granted an opportunity to prove his worth once again, but there still aren't any confirmation in that regard yet.
