Canucks forward Andrei Kuzmenko left their game vs the Islanders late in the third period after taking a puck to the face.

The winger caught a JT Miller slapshot up high and immediately fell to the ice writhing in pain.

Canucks medical staff attended to Kuzmenko and helped him off the ice, he didn't return to the game which Vancouver won 4-3 in overtime.

Following the game, head coach Rick Tocchet said Kuzmenko would go to the hospital but luckily seemed to avoid a worst case scenario.

Somebody said at least he walked to wherever he was going which is good,
Tocchet told reporters.

I think he took it right off the chin... the good thing is if there's any positive is that he walked to wherever he was going.

Following the game, Kuzmenko also took to his Instagram to let fans know he was okay.

A scary moment for the forward, but thankfully seems to have avoided any serious injury.
