LATEST | Latest scrimmage reveals Tanner Pearson's place in Tocchet's line-up
The Vancouver Canucks have been holding informal skates for the last several days now as they continue preparations for the 2023-24 season and on Thursday, we got a potential preview of the team's second line.
According to Jeff Paterson, during the team's scrimmage on Thursday, Tanner Pearson, J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser formed one of the lines and it could be one to watch as we head into training camp and preseason games later this month.
A potential line featuring those three players, Pearson, Miller and Boeser, could bring plenty of offense to the the Canucks' lineup this season. For Pearson, who hasn't played since November 9th, 2022 due to a broken hand which required three procedures, he's looking to prove that he can still be a productive player in the Canucks' lineup after missing a lot of time. If fully healthy, he's more than capable of scoring 15-20 goals, especially with line mates such as J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser.
While it's not a certainty that Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet will keep that line together when training camp opens next week, it would be interesting to give them an opportunity in preseason games to show what they're capable of. The first chance we could see the trio in game action is September 24th, the Canucks' preseason opener against the Calgary Flames.
