LATEST | Rick Tocchet comments on meeting Prince Harry, breaking Royal Code
Prince Harry dropped the ceremonial puck before the game began and was in Vancouver as the city will be hosting the 2025 Invictus Games, which is a multi-sport event for injured, wounded and sick men and women in military service.
Harry and Meghan appeared to have a very enjoyable night at Rogers Arena, cheering on the Canucks, as can be seen in the video below, when they scored.
After the game, as always, Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet met with the media and joked about potentially breaking Royal Code as he gave Prince Harry a fist bump when they met.
As per Royal Code, men are supposed to greet a member of the Royal Family with a neck bow, meaning their head only, not a full bow.
"Yeah, it was pretty cool. I gave him [Prince Harry] a fist bump. I don't know if you're allowed to do that. I did it though, he did it. He kind of looked at me, but did it, so. Pretty cool to get a fist bump from him." Tocchet said.
With the Royals in the house, the Canucks pulled off a 3-1 win, with goals coming from Quinn Hughes, who now leads the entire NHL in points with 30, as well as J.T. Miller and Sam Lafferty.
The Canucks will now be off today, along with every other team in the National Hockey League, before returning to action tomorrow night as they begin a three-game road trip in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche.
