Tampa Bay Lightning GM Julien BriseBois has been known over the last few years to make great depth addition to his team before entering the playoffs.

The most recent that comes to mind is Nicholas Paul and Brandon Hagel last year, but if we go further back in time we find trades that brought Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow as well. The Hockey Writers made an intriguing suggestion that the Canucks could potentially find themselves in a seller's position when comes the deadline.

They suggested that with their salary cap issues, they could take a run at acquiring young gun Nils Hoglander from the Canucks. Hoglander has struggled in Vancouver, but with the Lightning's skilled and in-depth lineup there could be a match to be made between the two clubs.

On the other hand, the potential return they've named was the son of a former Stanley Cup winner, Cal Foote. A right-handed defenseman that's also been struggling to find his game and could potentially fill a need for the Canucks.

The Lightning still have picks from rounds 3 to 7 in the upcoming draft and 2 to 7 in 2024, would pairing a pick to Foote be an intriguing enough return for the Canucks to trade Hoglander? The Lightning have been known to pay hefty prices for low-cost (AAV) players before, could the Canucks be interested here?
