MAJOR | Quinn Hughes bound to make NHL history
HUGHES BOUND FOR NHL HISTORY, AGAIN
Hughes has gotten himself on many franchises and league record since his NHL career started and tonight, he may add another to his resume. His hot start now puts him in a category alongside some of the greatest to ever play the game in Bobby Orr and Al MacInnis.
The league issued a statement announcing that Hughes could be only the third d-man to reach the 30-point mark before 20 games:
‘'Quinn Hughes (7-21-28 in 18 GP can become just the third different defensemen in NHL history to record 30 points in a season in fewer than 20 games alongside Bobby Orr (5x) and Al MacInnis (18 GP in 1990-91)''
Ever since Hughes was rated as a third tier d-man in the league, he's been playing with a chip on his shoulder. Not only has his offensive game been outstanding, his defensive game has been just as good. To this day, he still leads the league with a +14 rating and his case for the Norris grows by the day.
