TANNER PEARSON TRADE
Darren Dreger just broke the news that Tanner Pearson had been traded to the Montreal Canadiens; Pearson leaves Vancouver alongside a 3rd Rounder. On their end, the Canucks are receiving the netminder Casey DeSmith:
Pearson, who had been on the sidelines for most of the 2022-2023 campaign, came back to a team loaded with talent on the wings. This sends a clear message to young guys such as Nils Hoglander, Vasily Podkolzin and Anthony Beauvilier that now is their time to shine.
With this move, the Canucks also solve their netminding issue. DeSmith will be Demko's back; he's under contract for the upcoming two seasons. The Canucks also cleared $1.45M in salary,
