Everything points to the fact that the Sabres landed a goldmine when they selected the BC Native Zach Benson with the 13th overall pick.
After a stellar pre-season, the youngster was able to crack the team's lineup and he's getting better by the day as his skills and work ethic adjust to the NHL's level. Today, the rookie registered his first NHL game on an oustanding play, here's the sequence:
The Canucks used the 10th selection to pick Tom Willander who seemed the proper pick for them. Hopefully, he grows to be just as good or even better in the long run. Hopes are that we're not looking at a Oli Juolevi versus Matthew Tkachuk situation again.
