SIGNING ALERT | Sebastian Aho inked to massive extension: Setting the market for Elias Pettersson
The Hurricanes made the formal announcement this morning that they had signed their number one centerman for the next 8 years to a massive extension.
Aho, 26, respectively registered 67 and 81 points in last two seasons (154 total games). Known for his play at both end of the ice, he's been a key part to the Hurricanes' dominance over the past few years.
The Canes inked their star player to $78M over the next 8 years ($9.75M AAV):
This sets a new market for the Canucks superstar Elias Pettersson who will need an extension by July 1st 2024. Pettersson collected an oustanding 102 points last year and became a defensive force for the Canucks, at this point, if Allvin manages to get him under contract for $10M AAV it would be considered a bargain.
