We're nearly two weeks into free agency and Patrick Kane remains unsigned. It was to be expected after he underwent surgery on June 1st to fix a hip issue that's been bothering him for the last two seasons.

Many have been wondering who Kane will be signing with and when he will ink a new contract. Kane's agent Pat Brisson has shared an update on when his client will likely put pen to paper on a new deal.
"There's no rush," Brisson said. "This is one I'm very comfortable with. I'm very calm. You could offer me a one-year deal or a two-year deal right now at $7 million or so. I don't even know if I want to entertain it, because it's not what he needs. We'll see, at the right time, how he feels, where he's at, and then we'll take it from there."

He added, "There's going to be plenty of teams doing good, plenty of teams doing bad. "There are going to be teams using [long-term injured reserve]. We'll pick where we want to go. I don't think too many teams will turn him down."

The 34-year-old has been seen back in the gym preparing for next season, just weeks after having surgery, which is an extremely positive sign for prospective buyers. Kane has played well despite the nagging injury over the last two seasons, putting up 92 and 57 points, respectively.
There should be plenty of interest in Kane as we head into September and towards training camps, with the potential of him going to his hometown team, the Buffalo Sabres.
