When Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford hired Rick Tocchet, it was determined that they wanted to bring in someone who would hold the players accountable and up to higher standards. Today, Tocchet delivered on his promise big time.

STAR FORWARD JT MILLER BENCHED IN THE SECOND
Despite having a heck of a start to this season, it's probably been Miller's worst game thus far, and now Tocchet has just sent him a clear message:
'' #Canucks first power-play unit steps onto the ice without J.T. Miller.
- Thomas Drance

J.T. Miller is getting fully benched right now. He's on door-opening duties on the end of the bench. #Canucks
- Daniel Wagner''
After 40 minutes of play, the star forward already sat for 6 minutes in the penalty box, and his on-ice contribution hasn't been up to his standards. Tocchet took matters into his own hands and sent a clear message, not only to Miller but to the rest of the team. That sends a clear statement as to who calls the shot.
