Tocchet confirmed that Vasily Podkolzin wouldn't be travelling with the Abbotsford Canucks after he left the ice on a stretcher on Wednesday. The Canucks' 2019 1st Rounder went down hard after a late hit and started convulsing on the ice. Despite being ''okay'', the Russian will be going through the concussion protocol.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE HIMSELF

Glover, just acquired from the Penguins in the Jack Rathbone trade, was called up from Kalamazoo and will join the team on their upcoming road trip:

The following transaction has occurred:

Vancouver (NHL) re-assigns F Ty Glover from Kalamazoo (ECHL) to Abbotsford

The Abbotsford Canucks' GM gave a brief update on Podkolzin after he spent the night with him. It's a shame he got injured; Podz was on fire with five goals in just as many games:

''Spoke briefly with Abbotsford GM Ryan Johnson this morning about Vasily Podkolzin.

Said Podz told him he was feeling great this morning. Was with him in hospital last night, was alert then as well.

Obviously they'll follow usual concussion protocol but feeling optimistic.''

Glover joins the AHL squad after having a good debut with the K-Wings, the forward manages 3 points through 2 games.
