Everything points toward the Canucks having the draft's steal on their hands. The team's second pick in the 2023 NHL draft has been outstanding ever since he left the Canucks' training camp and he's dominated the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers.

OHL DEFENCEMAN OF THE MONTH
The right handed shot defenceman received honorary mentions for a stellar production during the month of October as he was named the OHL's defenceman of the month.
The Canucks proceeded to make an announcement on their blue chip prospect:
At the 2023 #NHLDraft, #Canucks drafted Hunter Brzustewicz 75th overall.

A few months later and one month into his OHL season, Brzustewicz is leading the league in points and has been playing at another level.

Hunter Brzustewicz is this month's #BuildingBlue Player Profile!

Through the first full month of activity, the defenceman collected record numbers with 25 points over a 13-game span.
«He's adding layers to his game he's taken a lot of the insight learned from [Canucks training] camp into his season in Kitchener and it's probably one of the reasons he's had so much success this year."

The Canucks only had one first round pick in this year's draft, which became Tom Willander, they then selected Brzustewicz in the 3rd Round. However, since the season's begun, he's been giving the team 1st Round Value and the way it's going, it's hard not to call him the steal of this latest draft.
