Without a doubt, he pointed out that he was expecting Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes to deliver just as much as they did during the 2022-2023 season.
The journalist however pointed out that he expected Anthony Beauvilier to make a name for himself and establish himself as an outright top6 player. He also believes that Vasily Podkolzin has the biggest potential of establishing as a legitimate everyday NHLer.
One thing that did surprise, however, is that he expect Akito Hirose and Arturs Silovs to grown into full time NHLer even through Silovs' got Demko ahead of and Hirose's got plenty of experienced d-man ahead of him.
This year's Canucks' lineup has plenty of players that could break through and they're definitely going to need them. Whether it's Brock Boeser that finally grows into the top end forward he was meant to be, or Podkolzin that develops into his power forward frame, if the Nucks intend on making a splash and breaking into the playoffs, they need a surprise, who's it going to be?
