Hughes, 23, will be the youngest acting captain in the NHL and despite it all, it was shown that even the older veterans agreed with the team's choice. This shows great unity amongst the team's top leaders and top voices. Allvin and Tocchet mentioned that any of these three guys could've taken the team's reign and were glad they'd be the team's core moving into their next phase.
Allvin finally sounded like a GM whose plan was coming through and Hughes as the new leader turns the page onto another chapter for the Canucks' retooling.
