It is hard to overstate the challenges that Brock Boeser has faced through out the last few seasons; Boeser has dealt with multiple tough injuries intermittent in his last few seasons. Boeser also faced the passing of his dad, which was very public and tough on him as he struggled to get through the last two seasons.

The 26-year-old has adopted a "clear head space" that has allowed him to focus on each game individually. The mindset seems to have helped Boeser as he had an impressive start to the season, scoring four goals in the Canucks opener.

At the end of last season, Boeser said that he had rediscovered his love for the game and was ready to make necessary changes to his game to impress head coach, Rick Tocchet. Boeser was challenged by Tocchet to work on his board plays and other facets of his game away from the puck.

Tocchet says "I saw twice (on Wednesday) where he used his body position to shield the guy and win the puck battle for us to get the puck out...Being in front of the net, which I asked him to be, was great..."

Boeser will continue to round his overall game as he works toward having a successful season. Boeser will play in his 400th game tonight against the Oilers tonight, he will hope for another strong performance.
