The Maple Leafs will be one team to keep an eye on, they've just re-signed their superstar goalscorer Auston Matthews to the contract with the highest cap hit ever signed when they are already in cap hell.

William Nylander is on the last year of a deal paying him an annual $6.9M and he's looking at a massive raise. He's now grown into a top-end offensive winger who's been a steady point per game producer over the last three seasons.

Nylander currently holds a 16 games point-streaks to start the season and he could writing himself in the league's history books if he keeps it going. The 25 points he managed since the season started are good enough for the league's second rank in scoring, behind the Canucks trio who put up 26 thus far.
