Tyler Motte's contract with the Lightning is for one year and will see him earn $800,000. The news came just minutes after the team announced they were placing Josh Archibald on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
Motte, 28, spent parts of five seasons with the Canucks between 2017-18 and 2021-22, appearing in 196 games where he recorded 50 points (28 goals, 22 assists), 60 penalty minutes and was a minus-15.
It'll be interesting to see where Motte will be in the Tampa Bay Lightning lineup when they begin their 2023-24 season on October 10th against the Nashville Predators, but there's no doubt he has the potential to be a useful bottom-six forward for them throughout the year.
