Amid the Recent Events, the Vancouver Canucks will not be able to sign their top defenseman prospect Tom Willander to an entry level contract, even though he can make a major difference on the teams blue line.
Willander's an All-Star! 🌟

Tom Willander still cant sign with the Vancouver Canucks
With the Canucks fighting for the final Wild Card spot in the west, they are looking for every opportunity to upgrade their team, but there is an obstacle standing in their way to get their 2023 1st-Round Draft Pick (#11) on their back end.
They will have to wait minimum one week to put pent to paper with the 20-year-old d-man because his Boston University Terriers will be moving on to the Semi-Finals and is not eligible to sign until they win or get eliminated.
Along with a lot of offensive upside, Willander has blossomed into a true 2-way defender.
He's played the last 2 years at Boston University, scoring 6 goals and 41 assists in 72 games as well as representing his country of Sweden at the World Junior Championships, scoring 2 goals and 5 assists in 7 games.
It is no doubt that he will be one of the odd men out on the Canucks roster, but if they are looking to make a run at the ultimate prize, they will need the depth and the talent of the young man.
