Brock Boeser Doesn't Hold Anything Back to the Media After Another Vancouver Canucks Loss
Vancouver Canucks star forward Brock Boeser spoke to the media after the Vancouver Canucks lost their road trip opener to the Calgary Flames on New Years Eve
With the loss to the Calgary Flames last night, the Vancouver Canucks' records now 17-11-8, which has pushed them out of playoff contention.
Due to Captain Quinn Hughes not traveling with the team due to an injury, Brock Boeser, who has been phenomenal the last 6 games, took on the leadership duties and spoke to the media after another devastating 3-1 loss.
But as all players due in the NHL, his answer was quite blunt, as he explained that it is hard with some of your best players, but he was happy with how the team played as a unit, but it was a few mistakes that cost them the game.
"I was just happy that we, you know, we stuck together out there," Boeser said. "And thought we played pretty hard, and I think we just gave up some rush chances against and just some small details that cost us."
There is none on the team right now that is performing up to the standards of Brock Boeser, J.T. Miller has not scored in 10 games, 20 if you do not include that his last goal was an empty netter.
Boeser who has scored 4 goals in his last 6 games is in an important contract year and will be looking for a significant upgrade. He talked about his recent success on a team that is not playing their best hockey.
"I'm not really sure. I'm just coming to the rink every day," Boeser uttered. "I'm trying to work as hard as I can. And, you know, I wish I'd be scoring and winning hockey games right now. So I'm gonna keep, keep doing what I've been doing, and try and contribute to help our team win."
With all the issues between not having any viable defenseman, the drama between superstars J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson and the fact that their best player and captain Quinn Hughes is down with an injury, Brock Boeser has been a bright light where it is hard to feel excited, and it will be interesting to see how the negotiating process will go this offseason.
