Bruce Boudreau Shares Key Factors for Vancouver Canucks' Push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Former Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau has shared his key factors for the team's push for a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Vancouver Canucks had an important matchup with Utah Hockey Club on Sunday night as both teams continue to push for a wild card spot in the Western Conference.
Rick Tocchet's group lost last night's game 3-1 and while that's unfortunate, every single game going forward is going to be crucial and they need to put this one behind them and start preparing for Tuesday's date with the Winnipeg Jets.
Bruce Boudreau shares his keys to Vancouver Canucks' playoff push
During an appearance on SportsCentre, former Vancouver Canucks head coach discussed what his keys are for as the team looks for a second straight appearance in the postseason.
One of those key factors that Boudreau mentioned is the play for forward Elias Pettersson, who's been on a hot streak over the last couple of weeks.
Boudreau says that if the Vancouver Canucks are going to have any success offensively, they'll need Elias Pettersson to average a point-and-a-half to two points per game down the stretch.
"He's got to average a point and a half to two points a game if the Canucks are going to have success offensively," Boudreau said.
The former Canucks coach also explained how important the team's upcoming six-game road trip is to their playoff chances, saying that they've got to go 4-2.
"They've got to come away with that 4-2. If they come away 1-5 I don't think they can make it. This is a big road trip." Boudreau said.
During that road trip, which begins on Thursday nigh, the Vancouver Canucks are set to face the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers (Mar. 22nd), New Jersey Devils (Mar. 24th), New York Islanders (Mar. 26th), Columbus Blue Jackets (Mar. 28th) and Winnipeg Jets (Mar. 30th).
There are some tough games on the road trip with three of those teams occupying playoff spots as of Monday morning, while the other three (Blues, Islanders, Blue Jackets) are all within four points of a wild card spot.
Before the Canucks look too far ahead, they've got a big game tomorrow at Rogers Arena against the NHL-leading Winnipeg Jets and a win would keep them in a wild card spot before they head out on the road.
