An Atlantic Division team has been suggested as a potential landing spot for Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood ahead of the NHL's trade deadline.

The National Hockey League's trade deadline is just 65 days away and for the Vancouver Canucks, it's expected to be a busy one as Patrik Allvin and the team's management group look to move their pending unrestricted free agents in an effort to get younger.
As expected, forward Kiefer Sherwood is drawing the most interest of any of Vancouver's pending unrestricted free agents as of late December, with potentially upwards of a dozen teams in the mix for the Columbus, Ohio native.
"The Ottawa Citizen's Bruce Garrioch reports that six NHL teams have "kicked the tires" on a trade for Sherwood:

Boston Bruins
Dallas Stars
New York Islanders
Ottawa Senators
Philadelphia Flyers
Tampa Bay Lightning" Billy Heyen of The Sporting News said recently.

Atlantic Division team suggested as potential landing spot for Kiefer Sherwood

Along with the Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning, there could be another Atlantic Division team to keep an eye on when it comes to Kiefer Sherwood leading up for Friday, March 6th.
In an article for The Hockey News this week, Michael DeRosa believes that the Buffalo Sabres should make an attempt to land Kiefer Sherwood, highlighting what he could bring to the team's top-nine forward group as they push for a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
"If the Sabres acquired Sherwood, he would fit very nicely in their top nine due to his scoring ability and physicality. Furthermore, he would also give the Sabres another option for both their penalty kill and power play if brought in." DeRosa said.

With Vancouver seeking a first round pick, along with potentially another asset too, the Buffalo Sabres would have no problems getting a Kiefer Sherwood trade done, if they wish to acquire him, but it'll likely depend on where they are in the standings in late-January before the NHL's roster freeze during the Winter Olympics.
If Buffalo is still in the mix at the Olympic break, then they should be considered a serious option for Kiefer Sherwood and if the Sabres aren't willing to part with their 2026 first round pick, one player that Patrik Allvin should target is Chilliwack, British Columbia native Zach Benson.
