Canucks management displeased with Elias Pettersson's recent behaviour
Something was off for the Canucks' super Swede Elias Pettersson. Off to one of the hottest season starts in franchise history, it cooled down badly during the season half and the playoffs.
During his exit interview, the Canucks' superstar revealed that he had been playing with an injury for quite some time. The statistics and his play showed a very drastic change:
Elias Pettersson's knee injury helps explain his struggles in the second half of the season and playoffs.
The Canucks knew about Pettersson's injury but deemed that it wasn't significant enough to have the forward sidelined. The fact that Pettersson tried to put blame on the injury, definitely had the Canucks surprised:
I think they were jaws on the ground floored to hear Pettersson try to blame part of his issues and play in the 2nd half of the season on the knee.
Now that the season is over, Pettersson will have plenty of time to heal his injuries and get back to his best shape. The Canucks will need him at his very best if they intend on being as good as they were in this previous campaign.
