Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson is already hard at work training this offseason in his home nation of Sweden, preparing for the 2025-26 NHL season, which the team is hoping will be a bounce-back year.

It was a tough year for Elias Pettersson as he dealt with drama off the ice relating to a feud with J.T. Miller, along with trade rumors and finished the campaign with the second lowest point total of his career, the lowest being the covid-shortened 2021 season.
The Canucks and Pettersson are hoping things will turn around next season in a big way and that he'll be able to return to being the 100+ point player he's capable of being, which would certainly help the team's chances of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The 2025-26 season is a little under four months away, but players around the league are already beginning their offseason training regiments in order to ensure they're in top shape by the time training camp rolls around in September.
Aside from a trip back to Vancouver to meet with Adam Foote, Elias Pettersson has been in Sweden, with the team hoping that he'll be working hard this summer after an injury limited him last offseason, which played a role in his slow start.
In a video posted to social media this week, Elias Pettersson can be seen on the ice training for the 2025-26 season while shooting content with Bauer Hockey Europe.
Pettersson can be seen working on his shot and his accuracy in the video, which is great to see after finishing the 2024-25 season with the second-lowest shot total of his NHL career with 109, along with just 15 goals.

It's a really good sign to see Elias Pettersson back on the ice this early and it just proves that he's motivated to be better and return to the player he was two-to-three seasons ago.
If the Vancouver Canucks are going to have any success next season, they're going to need Elias Pettersson at the top of his game and this is certainly a step in the right direction for the Sundsvall, Sweden native.
