It's been over 48 hours since the Vancouver Canucks dealt J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers and it was quite the successful weekend for him.
J.T. Miller opens up on his first 48 hours back with the New York Rangers
The New York Rangers had back-to-back games this weekend against the Bruins in Boston and then were hosting the Vegas Golden Knights last night at Madison Square Garden.
J.T. Miller arrived in Boston around 4 am ET on Saturday and suiting up for that game against the Bruins, along with last night's game against Vegas and did not disappoint.
In two games with the Rangers, Miller has put up four points (two goals, two assists) and was named the third star of the night following Sunday's win over Vegas.
Yesterday, Miller sat down for an interview with Jonny Lazarus of Daily Faceoff where he opened up about his whirlwind weekend and his first 48 hours back as a member of the New York Rangers.
"The support has been amazing so far, even coming back into town - old friends reaching out, it's just been a crazy 48 hours. As I can tell, it's a good group of guys here and a hungry hockey team, so it was a pretty good character third period by the guys. We're in a desperate position - we don't really have time to wait and see what happens. A lot of games are going to be like that coming down the stretch. It was nice to be on the right side of it." Miller said.
It's never easy to move on from a player like J.T. Miller, but the outside noise from a reported rift with
Elias Pettersson, along with him underperforming, led to Friday's trade and the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that they can put this situation behind them now.
The main pieces that Vancouver acquired in that deal on Friday - Filip Chytil, made his Canucks debut on Sunday night against Detroit where he had a goal and three shots in just over 20 minutes of ice time.
Vancouver Canucks fans won't have to wait too long before seeing J.T. Miller again as they'll be in New York to take on the New York Rangers for a Saturday matinee on March 22nd in what should be an entertaining contest.
