A former Vancouver Canucks prospect, who the club drafted six years ago, has put pen-to-paper on a new contract for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

The summer of 2025 has been very busy for several former members of the Vancouver Canucks organization, whether it be through finding a new home for the upcoming season, retiring from professional hockey or even landing a coaching gig.
While some players like Daniel Sprong (signed in the KHL) and Collin Delia (signed in Sweden) decided to head overseas to continue their respective careers, others opted to stay here in North America in hopes of eventually landing an NHL opportunity.

In a press release on Wednesday, the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL announced that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2025-26 season with former Vancouver Canucks prospect Carson Focht.
" The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning, has signed forward Carson Focht (FOKE) to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Focht, 25, enters his second season with the Solar Bears and sixth professional season after appearing in seven games for the Bears last season, scoring one goal and one assist." the Solar Bears said.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native was selected in the fifth round, 133rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and less than two years later, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the club.
Focht's time with the Canucks organization didn't last too long, as in the summer of 2023, when he was set to become an RFA, the team decided not to issue him a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Since departing the Vancouver Canucks organization, Focht has almost exclusively played in the ECHL, making stops with the Tulsa Oilers and the Orlando Solar Bears, but was limited to just seven games last season due to injury.
