An insider has given a big update regarding Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko, who missed the last two games for what the team called rest/maintenance purposes.

The Vancouver Canucks entered the weekend facing a tough back-to-back situation as they hosted the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night followed by the red-hot Colorado Avalanche led by Nathan MacKinnon.
Vancouver was able to walk away with three of a possible four points on the weekend thanks to a win over Columbus and overtime loss to Colorado, but there was a very notable absence between the pipes as Thatcher Demko was unable to suit up, with the club giving him some time off to rest and called up Jiri Patera from AHL Abbotsford.
On Monday, NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal and Elliotte Friedman gave updates on Thatcher Demko and how he's doing and thankfully, it doesn't appear that the San Diego native is dealing with anything too serious.

During Monday's edition of Donnie & Dhali, Rick Dhaliwal revealed that Thatcher Demko woke up on Friday with a bit of soreness and as a precaution, the Vancouver Canucks held him out of both games over the weekend.
Dhaliwal added that this could be a situation we'll see again later on in the year and that it's unlikely the Vancouver Canucks will be able to get 50 games out of him this season.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman went on to add that the Vancouver Canucks are not concerned whatsoever with what Thatcher Demko is dealing with, which is likely a huge sigh of relief for the team's fan base.
The Canucks are not too concerned with what Demko is dealing with. Friedman said.
The Canucks will be back in action tonight as they welcome the Winnipeg Jets to town for an all-Canadian clash and before Sunday's overtime loss to the Avalanche, Head Coach Adam Foote revealed that Thatcher Demko is a possibility to return to the crease.
"Adam Foote says it looks like Thatcher Demko could be able to start Tuesday vs. Winnipeg." Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 said.

Puck drop for tonight's game against the Winnipeg Jets is set for 7 p.m. PT and can be viewed on Sportsnet Pacific.
