New trade pitch deals controversial Vancouver Canucks winger to rising Pacific Division contender

A new trade proposal has emerged that would send Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane to a Pacific Division rival that's shown interest in him in recent weeks.
While he might not be a top trade target, Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane continues to generate interest from team around the National Hockey League, especially in the Western Conference, with the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars mentioned recently as potential landing spots for the nine-time 20-goal scorer.
"Per multiple sources, I'm told the @DallasStars and @Avalanche are among the likely destinations for @Canucks F Kane via potential trade." NHL insider Kevin Weekes said on X.
A trade involving Evander Kane is expected at some point over the ten day period between the National Hockey League's return from the Winter Olympics and the deadline on March 6th, and it looks like a Pacific Division rival could be among those that are trying to get their hands on the Vancouver native.

Last month, it was reported that the Los Angeles Kings have "kicked tires" on a potential Evander Kane trade with the Vancouver Canucks as they seek their fifth straight appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"While it's still a rumor - something we don't normally spend too much time on, but this was just too intriguing to not stop and give it pause for a few minutes - two separate sources over the past week have indicated to Mayor's Manor that they believe Holland is kicking the tires on a potential Kane trade." Mayor's Manor said.
The Kings haven't made it past the first round of the playoffs in the last four seasons thanks to Evander Kane and his former club, the Edmonton Oilers and his experience in reaching the Stanley Cup Final in back-to-back years could be vital to getting Los Angeles win their third championship in Anze Kopitar's final campaign in the National Hockey League.
In an article for Heavy.com this week, Michael DeRosa proposed a deal that would see Evander Kane, at 50 percent retain, go to the Los Angeles Kings, while the Vancouver Canucks would receive a third round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
"When looking at the Kings’ current lines, Kane could slot nicely on their third line. However, due to his ability to play both wings, he could also be a fit in their top six if brought in. Furthermore, he would also give them another skilled player to work with on their power play." DeRosa said about how Evander Kane would fit in with the Kings.
We'll have to wait and see what materializes following the National Hockey League's Olympic break, but it certainly feels like the Los Angeles Kings could be a great landing spot for Evander Kane and the Canucks could potentially receive a very fair return for the 34-year-old winger.
