A National Hockey League insider has given an unfortunate injury update on Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko after leaving Tuesday's game.
The Vancouver Canucks were back in action on Tuesday night as they wrapped up a four-game homestand against the Winnipeg Jets, who have been struggling of late, losing all three contests on their California road trip before arriving in the Lower Mainland.
There was plenty of excitement with Demko's return as the Vancouver Canucks need a big boost before heading out on the road, but unfortunately the San Diego native only lasted one period against the Jets.

During the first period last night, Sportsnet's camera's caught Thatcher Demko stretching quite a bit in between whistles and at commercial breaks, and after allowing two goals on eight shots, the 29-year-old didn't come out for the middle frame, with
Kevin Lankinen coming in to replace him.
"Goaltender Kevin Lankinen is now in net for the #Canucks.
Goaltender Thatcher Demko will not return to tonight's game." the Canucks said on X.
After the game, Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote said that Demko is dealing with a lower-body injury and would be evaluated further on Wednesday before the team heads out on their three-game road trip to North Carolina and Florida.
While there hasn't been an official update from the Canucks as of Wednesday morning, National Hockey League insider Frank Seravalli revealed that Thatcher Demko is set to miss the next two-to-three weeks with a minor injury that's unrelated to both his previous knee issue and him missing last weekend's games for maintenance purposes.
"Some (relatively) positive news for #Canucks on Thatcher Demko this morning. Early indication is that Demko is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a minor injury.
It's unrelated to his previous knee injury and unrelated to why Demko took maintenance days last week." Seravalli said.
In ten games this season, Demko has a 5-4-0 record with a 2.80 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
