A former Vancouver Canucks forward has reportedly found his new club overseas for the 2025-26 season, with final details still being ironed out before the contract is made official.

The offseason is fully underway in both North America and Europe, and so far we've seen a number of former members of the Vancouver Canucks organization find new homes overseas including defenseman Madison Bowey, who signed in Germany, while goaltender Spencer Martin inked a two-year deal with CSKA Moscow in the KHL.
Another former Vancouver Canuck appears to be on the verge of finding a new team overseas which would see him remain in the KHL for at least the 2025-26 campaign.

On Friday, Russian media outlet Sports.ru reported, citing Metaratings, that former Vancouver Canucks forward Brendan Leipsic could be on his way to Amur Khabarovsk next season.
Although, Sports.ru added that the two sides are still negotiating to get the contract over the finish line, with the financial part of the deal not agreed upon just yet.
Note: the following is translated from Russian

"Forward Brendan Leipsic may continue his career with Amur.

As Metaratings reports, the management of the Khabarovsk club is discussing possible cooperation with the forward's side, but so far they cannot agree on the financial part." Sport.ru said.

Leipsic, 31, was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in February 2018 from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for defenseman Philip Holm and he'd go on to appear in 31 games across two seasons with the British Columbia club, putting up 14 points (five goals, nine assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a minus-13.
Back in 2020, Leipsic left North America after misogynistic Instagram messages came to light during the league's covid shutdown, which led the Washington Capitals to place him on unconditional waivers in order to terminate his contract.
The Winnipeg native has bounced around the KHL over the last five seasons, suiting up for CSKA Moscow, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, SKA St. Petersburg and before the 2024-25 campaign, signed with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, who then traded him to Sibir Novosibirsk just before Christmas.
In 54 games last season with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg and Sibir Novosibirsk, Leipsic registered 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists), six penalty minutes and was a minus-16.
