Pittsburgh Penguins forward Michael Bunting status has been updated by head coach Mike Sullivan after he involved in a car accident today.
If you notice the absence of Michael Bunting in tonight's matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lighting, it only due to precautionary reasons.
Update on Michael Bunting Amid Car Accident
Head coach Mike Sullivan gave the media an update after he revealed breaking new that reliable forward Michael Bunting was involved in a car accident this morning.
He reassured everyone that Bunting is okay and did not suffer any serious injuries int he crash.
Mike Sullivan said Michael Bunting was involved in a car accident outside of PPG Paints Arena and that everybody's okay, but the winger will not play tonight.
As the game has commenced, there have been no further details on the extent of the accident or when Bunting will return to the lineup.
However, there is some concern by fans that if Bunting is alright and has no injuries, then why isn't he playing.
If anything, he may not have any physical injuries to speak of, but a car accident can easily leave you a bit shaken up mentally, and he is most probably taking the night off to let those effects wear off.
In 43 games this season, the 6 foot forward and former Toronto Maple Leaf has recorded 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points.
Although not a true offensive powerhouse, Bunting makes his effects known in the other areas of the game by being gritty, physical and defensive minded.
Until updates are released, everyone is wishing Bunting a speedy recovery.
