The Vancouver Canucks's AHL affiliate Abbotsford Canucks are in just as much trouble as their NHL team, with so many injuries Abbotsford were forced to get an emergency backup goalie as they no one left to play in goal.

Abbotsford are dead last in the AHL after winning the Calder Cup last season, nnot only is Vancouver in trouble but their whole system.
"While fans understandably have mixed feelings about what a potential rebuild could look like for the organization and how long it would take them to completely turn things around and become successful again, it doesn't appear that one will be happening anytime soon following comments made by Patrik Allvin last night."-Jaxon

Vancouver and Abbotsford both facing disaster together.

Jack Sutherland over at House of Hockey has reported on the nightmare both the Vancouver and Abbotsford Canucks are facing this season. Both are the most injured teams in their respective leagues, and now Abbotsford ran out of goalies.
"They were also recently forced to use Emergency Backup Goaltender C.J. Kier against the Colorado Screaming Eagles after Ty Young went down with an injury of his own."-Sutherland

Abbotsford has lost nine games in a row after winning the first two of the season, and are now at the bottom of the AHL standings. Similar to the Vancouver Canucks with nine injuries, and on a trajectory to the bottom of the western conference as well. There are no positive signs for the organization this season.
"After Jiri Patera was called up to the Canucks, it left only Young and Nikita Tolopilo as the goalies on the Abbotsford roster. They also have been forced to call up Aku Koskenvuo from the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings. The multiple injuries of the Vancouver Canucks have started to affect their minor league clubs, and it shows by the absences on their rosters."-Sutherland

Even with their injuries coming, both teams lack the pieces to be competitive this season, and with GM Patrick Allvin not wanting to rebuild, fans should fear a vicious cycle looming for the next few years in the Canucks organization.

Should the Vancouver Canucks and GM Patrick Allvin announce a plan for a rebuild?
