Two favourites have reportedly emerged in the sweepstakes for Vancouver Canucks veteran forward Evander Kane, with less then two weeks to go until the deadline.

Trade rumors are beginning to ramp back up around the National Hockey League after the Olympic roster freeze was lifted last night and for the Vancouver Canucks, their priority is to find a new home for Evander Kane, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
Over the last month, Evander Kane has drawn interest from a number of clubs, with ESPN's Kevin Weekes reporting in late January that the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars are two potential landing spots for the Vancouver native.
"Per multiple sources, I'm told the @DallasStars and @Avalanche are among the likely destinations for @Canucks F Kane via potential trade." Weekes said on X.

According to Nestor Quixtan of Heavy.com, citing NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal, two favourites have begun to emerge for Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane - the Colorado Avalanche and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"According to Rick Dhaliwal, the latest Canucks rumors posit that Kane has drawn the interest of the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning. The revelation is hardly Earth-shattering, but surprising that more teams aren't 'poking around' Kane." Quixtan said.

There's no doubt that the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning feel like they have a legit shot at landing Evander Kane, who could provide both clubs with the scoring depth and grit they need to achieve their ultimate goal, that being hoisting the Stanley Cup in late June.
While the Avalanche and Lightning can be considered favourites, there will be other clubs in the race for Evander Kane over the next 11 days leading up to the deadline, among them being the Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings and perhaps even the Carolina Hurricanes.
"I have heard that there seems to have been some progress on the Evander Kane front...4-5 teams have expressed legitimate interest. Canucks have been pretty focused on getting that off their plate." NHL insider Frank Seravalli said during a recent appearance on Canucks Central.

Things might not have worked out as both sides were hoping when Kane was acquired by the Canucks last June, but hopefully Patrik Allvin will be able to get a fair deal for him before the trade deadline, even if he has to retain upwards of 50 percent of his remaining salary.
