Some Vancouver Canucks fans have expressed their frustration with General Manager Patrik Allvin after a roster decision the organization made on Sunday afternoon.

The Vancouver Canucks made their final roster cuts on Sunday, with the club opting to keep Pierre-Olivier Joseph & Elias Pettersson in the NHL, for now, while assigning Victor Mancini and Tom Willander to the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Victor Mancini and D Tom Willander have been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL)." the Canucks said on X.

The decision to assign Tom Willander to the AHL made sense, as he's just making the jump to professional hockey in North America and isn't ready for the NHL yet, but sending Victor Mancini down to Abbotsford isn't sitting well with some Vancouver Canucks fans.

Vancouver Canucks fans unhappy with Patrik Allvin's decision to send Victor Mancini down

Following the announcement that Victor Mancini and Tom Willander were being sent to the American Hockey League, some fans of the Vancouver Canucks shared how they felt about the decision under the team's social media posts.
While a good chunk of fans understood why Mancini was going down, as it was Elias Pettersson's spot to lose on the blue line in training camp, there were quite a few who weren't happy with the move, as they believe he deserved to be in the lineup when the club opens the 2025-26 season on Thursday.
"Mancini was the best dmen in the preseason and still gets sent down lol" @nucksnationn said.
"Mancini should be on the opening night roster. Y'all are not cooking" @nhlspotlight said.
"Mancini should be on the roster not in Abby, bad call Allvin." @Dale07Charger said.
"This absolutely sucks. Mancini should be on the team. What does a guy have to do?" @HockeyFirst1 said.
Mancini, a native of Hancock, Michigan, joined the Canucks organization in January after being acquired from the New York Rangers as part of the return for forward J.T. Miller.
The 23-year-old suited up in 16 games in the NHL for Vancouver, while also helping Abbotsford win their first-ever Calder Cup, playing a big role on the blue line throughout their playoff run.
While it's understandable as to why fans might be upset by this decision, especially after the camp that Mancini had, there's no doubt he'll be in the National Hockey League at some point in the next few months, depending on if there are any injuries on the blue line in Vancouver.
