The Vancouver Canucks have received some positive news on the injury front regarding centerman Filip Chytil, who hasn't been in the lineup since mid-October.

Injuries have played a big factor in where the Vancouver Canucks sit in the National Hockey League's standings as of late-December, with several of the team's top players being sidelined at various points during the 2025-26 campaign.
On Saturday, the Vancouver Canucks got Elias Pettersson back from his injury after eight games and in the weeks to come, Adam Foote is hoping that his group will be back at full strength.
Among those still on the sidelines include forward Filip Chytil, who hasn't played since October 19th against the Washington Capitals when he took an open-ice hit from Tom Wilson.
"Tom Wilson lays a heavy hit on Filip Chytil.

Chytil went to the dressing room, and after review, there was no penalty on the play." Sportsnet said on X.

Vancouver Canucks receive positive news regarding injured centerman Filip Chytil

Given Filip Chytil's history with concussions throughout his career in the National Hockey League, the Vancouver Canucks have been playing it safe with the Czech centerman and taking it day-by-day, depending on how he's feeling.
On Saturday, there was a welcome sight at the Vancouver Canucks' morning skate as Filip Chytil joined his teammates on the ice for the first time since mid-October and was sporting a non-contact sweater.
"Hi Chytil! 👋

Filip joined the team in a non-contact jersey at this morning's skate." the Canucks said.
After the morning skate, Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote spoke with reporters about having Filip Chytil back on the ice with the team and seeing him feel good enough to resume skating.
"I mean just for him, as an individual in his career, it's great to see his smile and that just gives you as a coach or a group, a team a lift. I sure felt good about seeing him out there and when I went to see him, there was a lot of movement going on, I was kind of looking at him going 'you're good, eh?' and he said 'I feel so good'. For him to get through all this movement at once, with the lights, I felt it a good sign." Foote said.
There's still no timeline for Filip Chytil's return to the Vancouver Canucks' lineup, but hopefully he'll be able to return to game action at some point in the New Year, potentially well before the National Hockey League's Olympic break.
