Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson faced the media following the team's practice on Tuesday to discuss his difficult start to the 2025-26 season.

If the Vancouver Canucks want to achieve their goal of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they're going to need their top guys, including Elias Pettersson, step up and lead the way offensively.
While the club might only be three games into the season, the exact opposite has happened as Elias Pettersson has struggled, registering one assist, one shot on goal at five-on-five and has seen his ice time drop off, averaging under 16 minutes per game.
Before the Vancouver Canucks head out on a five-game road trip, which begins tomorrow in Dallas, Texas, Elias Pettersson spoke with reporters about his struggles to at the start of the new campaign.

Following practice on Tuesday, Elias Pettersson met with reporters to discuss how he's feeling about his play to start the season and what the team needs to do better during their five-game road trip which includes stops in Dallas, Chicago, Washington, Pittsburgh and Nashville.
"Oh for sure. I want to have three shots a game or even more, but maybe that's a reflection that we need to create a little more, I need to be better." Pettersson said.

When asked if he's seeing things his line and team can build on, he added, "Oh for sure, we have, obviously I think as a line we've been creating some chances, but I don't think it's been there consistently all the time, but yeah working on. We had a good practice today I felt."

The Sundsvall, Sweden native was also asked what he needs to improve on himself through the first three games of the season.
"Yeah, just drive the play, drive the the offense, be a two-way player and play good all over the rink." Pettersson said.
Hopefully, Pettersson can play a key role on this upcoming road trip and contribute offensively, something that'll be needed both at five-on-five and on the power play, especially if the Canucks want to return to Rogers Arena on October 25th with at least a .500 record in the standings.
