Both the Vancouver and Abbotsford Canucks are living the same nightmare, with countless injuries Abbotsford is forced to sign PTO's and hope for the best, they recently signed two more in Jake Murray and Phip Waugh.

"Abbotsford has lost nine games in a row after winning the first two of the season, and are now at the bottom of the AHL standings. Similar to the Vancouver Canucks with nine injuries, and on a trajectory to the bottom of the western conference as well. There are no positive signs for the organization this season."-Stinson

Abbotsford hoping to find diamond in the rough with PTO's.

Tyson Cole of Canucks Army is reporting on the parallel disasters in both Vancouver and Abbotsford, who both are in deep injury trouble. Abbotsford is forced to search for players through PTO's to dress enough people and it's not looking good.
"Murray, 23, is a 6'3″ 200-lb left-shot defenceman who spent the past three seasons playing in the ECHL, playing for the Idaho Steelheads (2023-24), Bloomington Bison (2024-25) and Greensville Swamp Rabbits (2025-26). He has scored seven goals and 41 assists for 48 points in 107 regular season games. With the Swamp Rabbits this season, Murray has tallied four assists in nine games and sits at an even rating."-Cole

Waugh has been on a similar trajectory playing three seasons in the ECHL. He has played in 53 games scoring five goals, and nine assists for 14 points. He is slightly bigger ay 6'4 220lbs, and so far this season he has 4 points in 9 games with the Savannah Ghost Pirates in the ECHL.
"The McLean, Virginia native played three games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2024-25. Waugh picked up his first AHL point, registering an assist and a plus-one rating."-Cole

The Abbotsford Canucks are suffering mightily right now, with no consistent timeline on when their players will be back, they need to damage control and quick if they are to save their season.
