The Vancouver Canucks are not a team short on drama, trading captains like Quinn Hughes and Bo Horvat, coaches like Rick Tocchet not wanting to coach the team anymore, all of which is a good reason for Brock Boeser to regret signing a long term contract with the team.
After all these things happening Boeser's signing looks like a mistake long term, and it will likely hurt his career down the line.
"He was one of my few teammates that came to my dad's funeral, and I think that kind of proved everything to me - the person he is and how he was raised by his parents," Boeser says. "That meant a lot to me. He just has a good heart, and he cares about people, and he cares about hockey, and that's just

Brock Boeser likely to regret signing seven year deal with Vancouver Canucks.
Jim Precourt of the Hockey Writers reported on the potential disaster Boeser set himself up for, in the next few years with the Canucks. The core of the Canucks is seemingly gone and Boeser is one of the few that remain.
"To add, just last season, head coach Rick Tocchet didn't want to coach this team anymore and left. Now, with Hughes just recently traded, and with them probably having the weakest roster in the NHL, gearing up to fully tank for Gavin McKenna with more moves on the horizon, Boeser could be in for a long ride."- Precourt
Boeser is on track to have one of the worst seasons of his career, on pace for only 41 points. He has no one around him to help, and with the team getting significantly younger, by the time they are ready to win Boeser will be past his prime entering his mid 30's.
"By the time they're competing again, Boeser will be 34 or 35 years old, and his contract will be up. In 2031, his production will most likely be on the decline after all the years in the slumps, and Vancouver will probably say thank you for your service, but we're heading in a different direction."-Precourt
Unfortunately for Boeser there are several clauses in his contract, making it extremely difficult for him to get traded. He would have to waive his No Move Clause, but then he could traded anywhere and could en up in a poor situation again. It might be a long road for Boeser unfortunately.
