The Vancouver Canucks have issued a statement on Friday afternoon following an injury to pending unrestricted free agent defenseman Noah Juulsen.
On Thursday,
a report came out from Rick Dhaliwal of
Donnie & Dhali that said Noah Juulsen's season is over due to hernia and today, the Vancouver Canucks shared an update on the status of the blueliner, as well as his recovery timeline.
Vancouver Canucks announce Noah Juulsen will be out for three months
In a post on social media today, the Vancouver Canucks announced that Noah Juulsen has undergone surgery for a lower-body injury and is miss be out for around 12 weeks.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today D Noah Juulsen had a successful lower body procedure. He is expected to miss approximately 12 weeks." the Canucks said.
Juulsen, 27, last suited up for the Vancouver Canucks on February 2nd against the Detroit Red Wings, playing close to 12 minutes that night and since then, he was deemed out with an undisclosed injury, and was
placed on IR following the 4 Nations Face-Off.
In 35 games this season with Vancouver, Juulsen hasn't registered any points, while adding 21 penalty minutes and was a minus-12, averaging 16:17 of ice time per night.
The Surrey, British Columbia native joined the Canucks back in October 2021 as he was acquired via trade from the Florida Panthers, along with Juho Lammikko, in exchange for Olli Juolevi and has since gone on to appear in 109 games across four seasons in Vancouver.
Juulsen is in the final year of his contract with the Vancouver Canucks and is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st and there's a pretty good chance that he'll hit the open market as Patrik Allvin shifts his focus elsewhere to improve the team's blue line.
