LATEST | Connor Bedard makes a shocking statement regarding his place with the BlackHawks next season
The Chicago BlackHawks ended up with the lucky hand this year, winning the Draft lottery and the opportunity to draft the generational talent Connor Bedard.
Bedard hasn't stopped impressing since the first time a camera was laid on him. Not only is he a phenom on the ice, but he's also shown his impressive maturity times and times again.
The latest first-overall pick has once again shown his incredible humility when asked about his presence in the Hawks' line-up for the upcoming season. In a recent interview, the superstar in the making was asked about the opening game where the Hawks are going to face the Pens and the legendary Sidney Crosby, his idol growing up. His answer truly showed his nature:
'I still have to make the team.»
After absolutely dominating the WHL the last 3 years, everyone assumed he'd be jumping to the NHL right away. Seeing that he doesn't take his spot for granted says a lot about his personality and work ethic.
Unless something major occurs, it's safe to say that Bedard will be taking the ice against Crosby when the Hawks kick off their season on October 10th.
