CONTROVERSY | Clayton Keller openly talks about his management intention and it contradicts Bettman's statement in regards to tanking
The Arizona Coyotes have been highly protected by the League in the past season due to their lack of revenue and their controversial arena situation.
Though yesterday they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning and caused a major surprise and grabbed a shootout win after
Connor Ingram posted a 47-save shutout which led to this magnificent shootout goal from
Clayton Keller:
Andre Tourigny has been leading the Coyotes to quite the success lately since they've registered at least one point in their last 7 games going 4-0-3. Clayton Keller was asked to comment on the team's most recent success and that is where things get really interesting:
''We got a good burst of energy there over the break, ... I'm sure the GM's not too happy about it.''
Your team is having success and you wouldn't be happy about it? Gary Bettman openly stated that teams weren't tanking and that everybody was giving their best efforts to get wins. Clayton Keller pretty much confirmed the theory.
The Coyotes have been pretty low in the standings for the past few years and with their recent surge of success they've taken steps away from the best lottery odds. They are now 5 seedings away from the league's worst.
Many have been suggesting that the lottery was rigged and that no matter what happened the Coyotes would still draft Bedard. If they keep on winning and taking steps further away from the league's last seeding, it'll make it harder for Bettman to give them the number one pick.
