Patrik Allvin has made some news on the waiver wire for the second consecutive day. The Canucks have placed defenceman Christian Wolanin on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League. Allvin had also sent Noah Juulsen down the waivers yesterday, it was confirmed that Juulsen will be reporting to Abbotsford as he cleared:
Wolanin, 28, is in his first year with the Vancouver Canucks organization and has spent the majority of the season in the American Hockey League with Abbotsford. In 49 games with Abbotsford, Wolanin has 55 points (six goals, 49 assists), while in 16 games with Vancouver, he's put up three assists.
If Wolanin clears waivers tomorrow afternoon, he'll join Abbotsford for the Calder Cup Playoffs and it would be a massive boost to the team, given his contribution in the AHL this season.
