LATEST | Another member of the Maple Leafs organization has decided to leave
According to reports out of Russia, Toronto Maple Leaf's prospect Semyon Der-Arguchintsev is close to signing with the KHL's Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.
Der-Arguchintsev, a native of Moscow, was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round (76th overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft after a strong season with the Peterborough Petes of the OHL.
The 22-year-old put up 40 points with the AHL's Toronto Marlies this season, which is a career-high for him. Der-Arguchintsev also made his NHL debut during the 2022-23 season on December 6th against the Dallas Stars.
This summer, Der-Arguchintsev will become a restricted free agent. It will be interesting to see if the Maple Leafs decide to issue him a qualifying offer to retain his rights. His qualifying offer, according to CapFriendly, is worth $787,500.
