LATEST | Canucks make an announcement regarding Aidan McDonough
In light of their building blue program, the Canucks highlighted another of their prospects, one who took major steps in his development since the Canucks drafted him in the 7th round, Aidan McDonough.
The 195th selection of the 2019 Draft, the winger spent 4 years at the University of NorthEastern before signing his entry-level deal and joining the Canucks. A skilled goalscorer, he was given the opportunity to play in a few games before the season ended.
Chris Higgins, assistant director of the Canucks' player development, narrated the prospect's presentation:
'It's a culmination of a lot of work to see him get where he is right now.''
McDonough scored his first NHL goal during one of the 6 games he took part in. The winger still has lots of work ahead of him, but the fact that he went from a seven-rounder to a top prospect for the Canucks surely shows what type of character he has.
McDonough will have a lot of things to prove when he comes into training camp. As pointed out, he will need to perfect his two-way game if he wants a full-time job in the NHL. Obviously, with Rick Tocchet leading his first camp with the Canucks, no jobs are guaranteed. Can he crack the roster for opening night?
