MAJOR | Former Canucks and now coach make a major statement regarding Arturs Silovs
Arturs Silovs is the most popular name in Latvia since he played a significant part in their success at the World Championship, where they surprised Conor Garland and the United States and brought home the Bronze Medal.
His name is just as hot in the media surrounding the Canucks, and after being named the Abbotsford Canucks' MVP, people are hyped up, and the belief is that he should be the one backing up Thatcher Demko once comes the beginning of the 2023-2024 campaign. The former Canucks Arturs Irbe, a retired Latvian goalie who now coaches their National program, was on Donnie and Dhali earlier today and was asked whether or not Silovs was ready to take the next step, and his answer says it all:
‘'Yes he is, I know it. It is just a matter of time; when he gets his chance, he will be ready. He was tremendous at the words; we were confident he was going to stop every single shot''
Spencer Martin has a year remaining on his contract, and Allvin has not closed the door on Silovs being Demko's backup for next season. With the recent feedback from the specialists and the performances he put up this year, is he the solution?
