The estimated value prior to this season was somewhere close to $700M, but the latest bid suggested that the sale will close for way more. Elliotte Friedman reportedly stated that the bids had started coming in and that one had crossed the $900M barrier:
This week Ryan Reynold made a surprising business move that may be related. Deadpool sold one of his companies, Mint Mobile, in a deal estimated to be around $1.3B. Reynolds himself will see a sum close to $100M, which surely helps in buying an NHL franchise.
The NHL had already stated that they'd want Reynolds to be part of a consortium to buy the Ottawa franchise. Reynolds is already involved in sporting venues since he owns part of a soccer team, Wrexham FC. Perhaps an owner like Reynolds is exactly what the Sens need.
