According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Winnipeg Jets are trying to get to the finish line on a deal that would send restricted free agent forward Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings.
Dubois, 25, will now be on his third team in his National Hockey League career so far and while many expected the Montreal Canadiens to be the front-runner in the sweepstakes, it appears that the asking price may have made GM Kent Hughes turn his attention elsewhere.
The Kings cleared a little bit of cap space on Saturday by trading Sean Durzi, who has one year at $1.7 million remaining on his deal, to the Arizona Coyotes for a 2024 second round pick. While the salary was low, it may have helped the Kings in their pursuit of Pierre-Luc Dubois and it'll be interesting to see if and when this deal becomes official.
