MAJOR UPDATE: Official statement from the Buffalo Bills regarding Damar Hamlin
The world stopped for a few minutes on Monday when Damar Hamlin needed to be rescusitated on the field in the game opposing the Bills and the Bengals. Since then, everyone's been impatiently waiting for updates on the young man's health.
Earlier today, the Buffalo Bills released a statement regarding their player's recovery development. Since the incident, Hamlin's been accounted for at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He's shown major improvement in the past 24 hours.
« While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress.»
Hamlin's heart stopped beating for a moment and according to the physician he seems to be neurologically intact which is excellent news for the 24-year-old.
«Damar Hamlin opened his eyes last night and is responsive. Truly incredible. One thing that's very clear from speaking to those close to him: They are endlessly appreciative of the medical care given to Hamlin on the field immediately, then over the last 72 hours.»
Hamlin still has a long way to go for a full recovery, but he's definitely stepping in the right direction. Up to this point, the thoughts and prayers have made their way to the player 🙏.
