Shane Wright is traded in an enormous deal
The latest captain of the gold-winning team Canada has been returned to the OHL after spending the first half of the seasons with the Seattle Kraken.
Before tonight, he belonged to the Kingston Frontenacs and the 19-year-old has just been shipped as part of a massive deal in the OHL. Wright is on his way to Windsor where the Spitfires spent nothing less than 9 assets to acquire his services.
Wright had 94 points last season in only 63 games and has yet to renew with OHL action. The Frontenacs will receive 7 picks in the three next drafts along with Ethan Miedema, a forward expected to go in the 3rd round of next year's draft, and the rights to defenseman Gavin McCarthy who's currently playing in the USHL, also a highly touted prospect headed into the 2023 NHL Draft.
Shane Wright now joins a loaded Spitfires line-up they currently hold the 4th spot in the OHL rankings and adding a player of Wright's stature will definitely help them in the long run, was this a big enough payout for the Kraken prospect?
